Type 1 & Type 2 Instructions

🩺

Who Is This For?

Diabetic patients (Type 1 or 2), or anyone using a glucometer who wants to:

📉 Improve your A1C
⚖️ Lose weight (Type 2)
🛡️ Decrease risk of disease complications
🔔 When To Take Action

Check your blood sugar levels. If either threshold is exceeded, follow the steps below.

Before Breakfast
> 126
mg/dL
🍽️
1 Hour After Meal
> 150
mg/dL
📋 Step-by-Step Action Plan
1

Check Your Blood Sugar

Measure before breakfast or 1 hour after a meal. If it exceeds the thresholds above, proceed to the next step.

2

Log Your Foods

If fasting blood sugar > 126, type in all foods from the previous day. If post-meal > 150, type in all foods from that meal.

3

Identify High-GI Foods

Look for foods in your search results that are 3 flames or higher — these are the ones spiking your blood sugar.

4

Take Action

For 3-flame foods: eat less, eat less frequently, use smaller portions (what fits on a saucer), or eliminate them entirely.

💡

Pro Tip: Swap Instead of Skip

Search for high-GI foods to find lower-GI alternatives. Small changes make a big difference:

Fried → Baked or broiled
White bread → Whole grain or sourdough
Check if removing certain ingredients lowers the GI

🎯 YOUR GOAL

Keep fasting blood sugar below 126 and post-meal blood sugar below 150 by identifying and reducing high-GI foods in your diet.
